The Quarry Film Editing Suites and Offices in Soho, London.
The Quarry are an award-winning film editing studio known internationally for their work. They were busy, short of space, needed to grow. They took the lease for the adjoining building to their Brewer Street studio in Soho and we were asked to expand their offices and editing suites into the adjoining building, on a tight budget and whilst The Quarry continued to work in their current space.
We used an angled high-gloss panelled wall to lead the eye from one building to the other, taking care to use standard board sizes and common components to keep the costs down. A mix of slate flooring and wide-board Dinesen timber flooring added interest to the space and helped to delineate ‘place’ within a flowing circulation area. A shock-pink slot window within the high-gloss panelled wall echoed the colour of the Soho-club signage. The project included three editing post-production suites, staff kitchen and dining space, offices, cloak room and storage.
The Quarry’s offices were completed in 2007 and the main contractor was CK Bespoke Refurbishments.
